Rookie Blue Leap of Faith

Tonight’s episode of Rookie Blue, if you believe the advertizing is going to be about psychics, the mob and sex. Sounds like a good episode to me.

The Case

The lead in is Shaw and Collins who are developing their bromance by badly singing along with a classic rock ballad. Too bad it ends with a perp taking the trial witness from poor rookie Collins. The background of the case is that Vincent, who is some mob guy burned down several bars because they would not pay “protection” money. The guy taken from Collins is the lynch pin that was going to convict him. When the witness of the kidnapping came in, it took me way longer than it should have to realize that he was the “psychic”. It was a real forehead slapping moment for me. A pep talk from the psychic actually helps Collins remember details about the kidnapper that gives them a solid lead. Peck and Diaz work their witness and learn new information, but it ends up they don’t need it after all because the rookies manage to catch the bad guys before they can kill the witness they kidnapped. Nice bit of detective work Jerry, figuring out that the psychic is also the bad guy’s brother in law.

McNally almost said the “L” word to Swarek after some stellar sex…not the best time to say the “L” word if you’re going for sincerity (and that goes for men and women). But she chickens out. Speaking of McNally and Swarek, he’s being extra dicky tonight. Could it be his way of discouraging her from saying the “L” word because he isn’t ready to say it back? She says it, oh you’re brave McNally and although Swarek doesn’t say it back, he definitely looks pleased that she did.

So Epstein is two-timing Sue with the sister of the boy he killed. Just in case you missed that. How dumb is Epstein, really? He just bugs me. I feel kinda bad for the actor because Epstein is such a screw up and he’s so irritating that I can’t be the only one that doesn’t like him, which means there are people out there who don’t like the guy because they think he is the guy he plays.

Three years Nash and Detective Jerry have been together, wow, that went by fast. She’s taking him to Cold Play for the anniversary and he gets her a knife? That’s such a guy thing (totally a move my dad would make if he didn’t have help choosing gifts for my mother), except that judging by the look on his face, the knife is more than just a knife. Could it be a marriage proposal? It is! It is a marriage proposal! Did I call that or what? Jerry had to convince her, but it looks like we’re going to have a Rookie Blue wedding. I am so excited for that!

Speaking of next week’s episode, I’ll be late reporting on it to you because I’ll be at The Dark Knight Rises (unless I can’t wait that long to see it) which means I’ll be catching up with Rookie Blue on their Global TV site. Click here if you missed last night’s episode, or any of the episodes so far in season 3 and you can get caught up.
